NEWTOWN, CT — Boost Bowls, a smoothie and nutrition bowl eatery with popular franchises in Bethel and Southbury, is coming to Newtown.
The sandwich and shake shop will open its doors at Big Y Plaza, 6 Queen Street, on October 9 at 4:00 p.m. The menu offers a variety of fresh juices, smoothies, açai bowls, and protein shakes, along with sandwiches and wraps.
Boost Bowls is owned and operated by wife and husband team Tatiana and Valdrin Mehmeti of Danbury.
"We want to provide a spot where people come for the experience," said Tatiana. "There are trendy places in bigger cities and people travel far to be part of that, so we wanted to bring that kind of atmosphere close to home for those from small towns here in Connecticut."
Boost Bowls attracts its customers by its bright and colorful varieties of drinks and foods, all of which are made fresh from whole foods, with the #MadeWithLove tagline.
The popular açai bowls are available as "build your own" with five different base options, including açai, pitaya, blue majik, banana, and avocado, and added ingredients such as fresh fruit, seeds, goji berries, almond butter, agave, and more. New to the menu in Newtown will be salads, custom blend coffee and espresso drinks roasted by Stone Street Coffee, and hot matcha lattes.
The restaurant's goal "is to bring healthy food options to the community, including children, young adults, and working parents on to go," according to Tatiana.
"We love that we can provide healthy options to the community," she said. "The best part is seeing so many young adults coming to Boost Bowls to get healthy meals with their friends and posting their colorful creations on Instagram. Making healthy choices doesn't have to be boring!"
Boost Bowls will be celebrating its grand opening in Newtown with free bowls for the first 50 people in line, and merchandise giveaways.
Newtown customers can order ahead and pick up on the go, or enjoy a bowl at the outdoor tables. Boost Bowls also has an app that gives diners 10 percent off their first order, as well as a web-based ordering option.
All COVID-19 safety protocols are being followed at Boost Bowls.
