Healthy Smoothie Recipes For Your Toddler

Hey there! Mom of four here! I know how difficult it is to get these kids to eat healthily! If the food doesn’t look cool or doesn’t taste sweet then there is likely zero chance that they are going to eat disgusting looking vegetables without putting up a major fight (which I am sometimes way too tired to fight). So, the best way is to sneak in their veggies into meals and smoothies just so they don’t know what is happening. You can sneak in kale, spinach, and carrots without them suspecting a thing; as long as you do it correctly. Here are the best healthy smoothie recipes that would be perfect for your toddler!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 packed cup of spinach (don’t use a measuring cup regularly – I just grab a big handful but I measured it for this post and it was about 1 cup)
  • 4-5 ice cubes
  • 1 large spoonful of plain greek yogurt (approximately 3 tablespoons)
  • 1/3 of orange juice (give or take – I just pour some in until it fills an inch or two of the bottom)
  • Blend it all together. I put the spinach in first, then the banana, ice and yogurt, and then pour on the orange juice. Then, I turn on the blender at a low level for a few seconds, a medium level for 10 seconds, and then the highest setting until there are no longer visible pieces of spinach. If your blender I having trouble blending, add another dash of orange juice and that should fix it.

I know the struggle first hand with trying to convince my kids to eat their vegetables. I know vegetables are not as much fun to eat. The healthiest vegetables tend to taste the grossest to our sweet toddlers. Children don’t usually like spinach, carrots, celery, avocado, and kale, but those are so healthy for these babies of ours! So, I love tricking my kids into eating healthy by adding those “gross” vegetables with some yummy healthy fruit!
