We get Malavika Manay, from Earth Mama Smoothies, a pop-up that specialises in vegan, gluten-free and refined sugar free smoothies and bowls in Bengaluru and Goa, to share some recipes from her collection.

Recipe: Chocolate chip espresso smoothie

Ingredients: 

Method:

    Add the ice cubes, the plant milk, and the espresso shot or the cold brew shot to a high-speed blender.

  2. 2

    Then add the bananas, cacao powder, cacao nibs, peanut butter and dates.

  3. 3

    Blend at high speed. Keep checking on the smoothie after every blend. Mix until the consistency is thick and creamy.

    Pour into a glass or bowl.

    Add toppings of your choice.

Recipe: Vanilla cashew butter hemp smoothie

Ingredients: 

  • 6 ice cubes

  • 100ml plant milk (oat, almond, cashew or coconut)

  • 1 small banana, frozen

  • 1 cup dragon fruit

  • 1 tbsp cashew butter

  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar

  • 1 tsp hemp protein powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp cacao nibs

Method:

  1. 1

    Add the ice cubes and plant milk to a high-speed blender.

  2. 2

    Then add the banana, dragon fruit, cashew butter, coconut sugar, hemp protein powder and vanilla extract.

  3. 3

    Blend it all at high speed. Keep checking on the smoothie after every blend until the consistency is thick and creamy.

    After it is 90 per cent done, add the cacao nibs and blend again.

    Pour into a glass or bowl.

Recipe: Mango tahini ginger smoothie

Ingredients: 

  • 6 ice cubes

  • 100ml plant milk (oat, almond, cashew or coconut)

  • 1 cup of mango, frozen

  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar

  • 5 drops of vanilla extract

  • 2-3 slivers of ginger

  • 1 tbsp tahini

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

Method:

    Add the ice cubes and the plant milk to a high-speed blender.

    Then add the mango, coconut sugar, vanilla extract, ginger slivers, tahini, turmeric, cinnamon.

    Blend at high speed. Keep checking on the smoothie after every blend; mix until the consistency is thick and creamy.

    Pour into a glass or bowl.

    Add toppings of your choice.

Recipe: Coconut spice mixed berry smoothie

Ingredients: 

  • 6 ice cubes

  • 100ml coconut milk

  • 1 ½ cup of berries, frozen

  • 3 tbsp coconut sugar

  • 5 drops of vanilla extract

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

  • 2 tsp peanut butter (optional)

Method:

    Add the ice cubes and the coconut milk to a high-speed blender.

    Then add the frozen berries, coconut sugar, vanilla extract, nutmeg, cinnamon and peanut butter (optional: for a peanut butter jelly flavour if you want).

    Blend at high speed. Keep checking on the smoothie after every blend until the consistency is thick and creamy.

    Pour into a glass or bowl.

Recipe: Rose and spirulina smoothie

    Add the ice cubes and the soy milk to a high-speed blender.

    Then add the frozen banana, papaya, spirulina, rose essence, almond butter and dates.

    Blend at high speed. Keep checking on the smoothie after every blend until the consistency is thick and creamy.
